God's Goodness is Abundant | Grateful, Thankful, Blessed

In the weeks that have passed since I’ve last written, I have been learning so much. Mostly, I’m learning about thankfulness. I talked about this around Thanksgiving and how I didn’t want to use one holiday to be thankful...I wanted to practice being thankful everyday. Since then, I’ve been receiving some lessons in this area.  What I’ve realized is that I DO indeed have a lot to be thankful for! While I don’t have EVERYTHING I’ve asked for, I certainly have everything I need and so much more. As I look over the course of my life, it’s easy for me to see how well taken care of I am by God, my family, my friends and my husband. I often times take the things that are part of my “normal” for granted. For example, electricity!  A couple weeks ago, the county I live in had an ice storm that caused trees to snap and power lines to fall to the ground. Gratitude Brings Joy | Finding Joy

Thankful for Sergeant. The holiday season is always used to connect with family, have fun with friends, reflect on past times and look forward to future times. Focusing on the things we are grateful for is second nature and usually part of the THANKSgiving tradition. Maybe you posted something daily on Facebook, posted a picture a day on Instagram or went around the table during a meal and expressed the things you most enjoy in life. Reflecting on our daily blessings has a unique way of changing our mood and maybe even the atmosphere. Being thankful brings about a perspective that allows us to gaze in the right direction. Focusing on the good in our lives helps make us feel like the bad isn't so terrible. Thankful for my church family . I want to encourage you to continue the routine of reflecting on your blessings t...

Extravagant Celebrations

She said that her son wanted to show me his new puppy in the backyard. I open up the door to the backyard and immediately see all my close church friends gathered around in expectation, and hear a loud “SURPRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE!!!!!!” In that moment, my heart was flooded with emotion. Tears gathered in my eyes as memories and thoughts of great times spent together came rushing upon me in an instant. I was so excited and touched to know that they had been planning this for weeks and prepared a special party for me with all my favorite things. One of those favorite things included the art of celebration; I love to celebrate and mark moments in time with good memories and good friends. I love for each person to feel special and distinguished when good things come their way. Cheesecake F...
