How to Deliver Truth Without it Hurting | The Truth Doesn't Have to Hurt

Have you ever had to tell someone the truth but you were afraid it would hurt them? I hate having to give constructive criticism, but there's a way to make it much less painful. It's called a compliment sandwich. I learned this technique in my first year o f teaching and it has helped me in every area of my life. The neat part is that Jesus does it too, so I know it's an approved method. Jesus does this in Revelation. Here's an example: To the angel [ a ]  of the church in Ephesus  write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand  and walks among the seven golden lampstands.   2  I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested  those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.   3  You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name,  and have not grown weary.   4  Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at fi

3 Keys to Prioritizing Your Relationship with Your Spouse

Maybe you've been married 3 years, 10 years, 30 years, or are just hoping to be married someday. Either way, every relationship gets to a point where life gets in the way and time with your spouse takes the back seat. I can't express the importance of not letting that happen. God's desire is for our marriages to be treated with the same tender care. He wants your spouse to be a priority. He wants us

My goal for 2017 was to read through the Bible. A friend of mine mentioned a One Year Chronological Bible and I felt like this was the most realistic way to make it to the end.  I checked it out on amazon and found a used Bible for $5 (this what I bought... click here ). I also saw that it had a designated reading for each day of the year AND it put the Bible story in a chronological timeline (here are some others... click here ). I have a very logical mind (blame it on my math degree), so laying out the Bible in the order that it took place just made sense to me. I couldn't wait to start my journey into the greatest story of all time. I have to say that it felt like molasses through ce
