Asking for More?

At 6 years old, I knew in my heart that Jesus was real and I accepted him as my savior and God as my Father. At 11 years old, my dad taught me how to open my heart and hear from God. When I was faced with unanswered questions or problems we didn’t have a solution to, I would seek him and await a response. At that point in my life, my parents were hoping to buy a house sitting on a lot of land that seemed like a dream come true to me. I asked my dad if he thought we would get approved for the land and he wasn’t sure so he referred me to God. This was foreign to me at the time but he encouraged me through it and I was 90% sure I had heard from God. I was a beginner in hearing the voice of God and wasn’t positive if what I heard was God’s voice or my own hopes answering back. Not long after that, confirmation came when the contract went through on that house and we moved in shortly after. This was pivotal in learning the process of interacting with God. He has an opinion and wants to talk to me!

Set on fire for signs and wonders
at Love Dayton
Throughout my formative years I learned to hone in the voice of God and sought his voice for major life decisions and daily problems I faced. I asked for his help in choosing a college, assistance on tests (though that might be cheating?), direction in dating (my husband was pointed out), guidance during interviews and so much more. As I became an adult, I realized my sphere of influence was a bit limited. I was witnessing his power in my own life but I wanted to help others realize his power in their lives too.

Super excited about the youth
conference last year!
Seeking the Holy Spirit and desiring a change in my mindset and heart became my main priority. I desperately wanted to learn how to spread this light, hope and joy I was experiencing to anyone around me. We ventured out to a couple conferences to learn more about how other people succeeded in this endeavor. What we walked away with was much more: healing, words from God, direction and restoration from the Holy Spirit became a part of our daily routine. We did grow in our initial endeavor of wanting to hear Him more clearly for/with others, but most of what we learned was the Holy Spirit’s power and his ability to spiritually “wreck” us in a moment. I remember at one conference we were running late and the venue had changed. So, we had to find the new venue and ended up arriving after everyone was settled in. Despite our tardiness, we walked in and were greeted with loving hellos; they sat us down in the middle of a circle and prophesied over us as a couple and our ministry together. The entire weekend was jam packed with experiences like that and we went home wonderfully disoriented, restored and transformed.  Every conference, church meeting and prayer time at home since then has been similar, yet powerfully impactful in a different manner. Our lives have been changed, our courses have been set right, our ministry has been given direction, and our hearts have been lit up on fire to please God and change the world. What we learned was that we were never going to figure it out. It’s really a taste, see, and become totally possessed by Him kind of thing. We love it!

That’s where we are today and we couldn’t be more excited to spread this Good News. We want you to be set free by the power of God and to feel fire in your heart from the Holy Spirit to be changed and to change others. The urge to change and be set free and on fire for God will be all consuming and irresistible. My prayer is that you open your heart to the offer set before you and for you to receive the Holy Spirit with joyous excitement. My hope is for you to be radically changed and hopelessly in love with Jesus.

Reforming Undesirable Behavior

You know that thing you do that you don't wanna do but you keep doing it because you can't stop doing it? These behaviors might include: lying, cheating, raging, gossiping, pornography, drinking, drugs, eating, throwing up, etc. Reforming these behaviors on your own can prove to be a little tricky. I'd say reforming undesirable behavior might even be impossible on your own. But there is still hope for us. With the love of God, the power of the Holy Spirit and a renewed mind, you can reform your behavior. Youth conference with lots of God encounters! An encounter with God is the easiest way to reform undesirable behavior because the encounter will fill you with the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord renews our minds in a way that informs our bodies of what's beneficial to our spiritual health in the eyes of God. So, your mouth doesn't want to lie anymore; your tongue won't allow you to eat certain things; your eyes will be opened to the evil of pornogra

Don't Pick Up Hitch Hikers...

My husband's passion for hearing God and sharing his words is inspiring. The knowledge God gives him to articulate to his people is astounding. It amazes me that my husband holds these spiritual words within him and nearly bursts with excitement on Sunday trying to get it all out to a physical world. Which brings up Joshua 23. This chapter is Joshua's final charge to the leaders and future generations. What is a charge? It's kind of like issuing a challenge and a warning all at the same time. At weddings, the minister charges the couple with the responsibility associated with marriage...in Joshua, he is charging the leaders to beware of the physical world around them. They've driven out the big tribes from the Promised Land but a few stragglers still remain and Joshua warns the leaders to avoid any entanglements with them. Temptation is sure to be present among these stragglers and they would be wise to remember all God has done for them. He said: 6 “Be very strong;
